Swedish Visiting Cake

gosh all my photos look the same. same bird's eye view. need to change it up a bit.

I'm not Swedish and I'm not visiting anywhere. So it's lemon almond cake, but Swedish Visiting Cake sounds so much nicer.

You can just sprinkle the almonds on the top but crazy me had to make perfect circles.

Sorry for all the font changes in the recipes, finding a good font that isn't cheesy or tacky looking is so hard!

swedish visiting cake

1 cup (200g) sugar, plus extra for topping
Zest of one lemon
2 eggs
1/4 tsp salt 
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 cup (125g) flour
1/2 cup (114g) melted butter, cooled
1/4 cup (25g) sliced almonds

Oven 350F.
Whisk zest and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, then salt and extracts.
Add flour then fold in butter. Put in a buttered/floured cake pan. Put almonds on top then sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Serve warm
