Why Olive Oil?
The fat normally used when making waffles is a mixture of milk (or buttermilk) and butter. However, you may use oil if you wish. As a matter of fact, using oil has several advantages. Waffles made with olive oil will roll out of the hot waffle iron golden brown.
Compared to butter ones, they are crispier. It is common for vegan waffle recipes to use a milk alternative and an oil, often coconut oil.
Olive oil would also work if you were making a vegan waffle. Nevertheless, you should keep in mind that coconut oil is a solid at room temperature, whereas olive oil is a liquid. There will be a significant difference as a result of this.

Olive Oil Waffle Recipe
It is a good idea to replace olive oil in your existing recipe with olive oil or give our easy recipe a try.
In order to make the olive oil waffle batter, you will need the following ingredients from the store.
- ¾ cup All Purpose Flour
- ¼ cup Corn Starch
- Large egg
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Kosher salt
- 1 tbsp pure cane sugar
- 6 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 cup Buttermilk (or whole milk)
- Spices (optional)
- Vanilla extract (optional)
You can increase their crispiness by mixing some corn starch into the batter. There is a 3:1 ratio of flour to corn starch.
You may substitute all flour if you do not have it. It is possible to replace the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour or buckwheat flour if desired.
- The following ingredients should be mixed together in a large bowl: flour, corn starch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add one cup of buttermilk to a 2-cup measuring cup. After that, stir in the egg, sugar, and oil. To combine, mix well.
- In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. The batter should only be mixed until it forms a cohesive mass. It is recommended that you allow the batter to sit for 5-10 minutes before making your waffles.
- The waffle iron should be set to its highest setting. Before adding the waffles to the waffle iron, grease it with some oil. It may be necessary to add more if your waffles become sticky.
- In the case of a regular-sized iron, you will need to scoop 12 cups of batter onto the iron. It is recommended that you make 1/4 cups of waffles at a time if you are using a mini waffle maker.
- Remove the waffles from the oven once they have become brown. Continue until all the batter has been used.
- During the preparation of the waffles, you may wish to keep them in a warm oven at the lowest temperature so that they will not become cold.
How many mornings do you have that make waffles seem like a luxury? In order to make the process easier, there are several things you can do in advance. Prior to going to sleep, you should get set up.
It is beneficial to measure all your dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, so that when you are ready to prepare breakfast, you are not required to spend time getting out all the ingredients and putting them away.

As part of the process, yeast is used and the dough is allowed to slowly rise in the refrigerator overnight. It will only take you a few minutes to cook your waffles in the morning.
